About Us

Charisma’s Crayons is a Christian based non-profit whose mission is to empower at-risk students through programs designed to guide them to high school graduation and beyond. Because nearly 80% of at-risk students are below average in reading, writing, and math, Charisma’s Crayons has partnered with area homeless shelters, children’s homes, schools, and parents to build a future for kids who would otherwise fail. Co-founders Diana Abarca and Naadiya Hutchinson are both college students with a passion to make a change in the community. We see that many homeless children lack the support to succeed in education. We plan to bridge this gap by providing school supplies for students twice a year and providing tutoring. The name Charisma’s Crayons stems from a child that we both volunteered with at the local homeless coalition. We went to help all the children that stay there but in the end, we ended up learning from them. She taught us that homeless children crave educational resources- from asking for assistance with writing to asking for writing supplies. Charisma has inspired us to endeavor into helping the homeless, unlike anything we have done before. Your monetary donations contribute to our four programs.

Matthew 10:8

“Freely you have received; freely give.”

This is a verse that our team lives by.
